MiNextCities supports places where the need for integrated energy solutions — backed up by thorough research, ambitious policy, and urban planning — can move Michigan toward carbon neutrality. We do this by blending existing planning efforts with inclusive public participation to determine which technologies to pursue. The solutions we deploy are tailor made to meet each community’s specific goals and objectives.

Delivering custom solutions.
Our deployments use information and communication technologies to improve the efficiency and performance of interconnected infrastructure. Potential solutions include fleet electrification, smart street lighting, shared mobility, distributed energy systems, and next-generation stormwater infrastructure.
Driving a sustainable future.
We will analyze deployment data and user-based assessments to evaluate the impact of each city’s technology deployments. This roadmap of best practices and lessons learned will be used to guide other small to midsized Michigan cities toward implementing their own successful, sustainable solutions.
